Direct Group appoints new Business Development Manager

The Direct Group is pleased to welcome Andy Thompson into the role of business development manager for Direct Security Solutions.
Andy is a security professional of great knowledge and experience having worked in security and risk management roles in the logistics and retail sectors. Having been a client user of manned guarding and related services in previous jobs, Andy moved into the industry performing numerous management roles including operations and business development. He has quickly earned a reputation as someone who is very client driven and committed to delivering a top quality service. During his time as a logistics security manager, Andy was a client user of manned guarding services and fully understands exactly what customers expect and deserve.
Before working in the private sector, Andy spent 5 years in the British army which included a 2 ½ year posting to Northern Ireland. After leaving the army, Andy joined the police serving initially in Kent before transferring to Merseyside where he eventually became a force level intelligence operative. This role involved the use of specialist, covert techniques and tactics to target individuals and groups involved in serious and organised crime.
Andy believes the knowledge, skills and experience picked up during his time as a soldier, police officer and corporate security professional have proven invaluable in his development as a senior manager in the security services sector.
