What to Do When a Builder Takes Your Money and Fails to Deliver

The National House Building Council (NHBC) recently reported that 91% of house owners would recommend their builder and whilst this is good news for the sector, not everyone has had a positive experience.

What is a CCJ?

A CCJ, or County Court Judgment, is a type of Court Order that can be registered against a debtor if they fail to pay an outstanding monetary amount. Once this has been initiated by a creditor, a County Court Claim form will be sent to the defendant to explain how much they owe, who and how to pay, and the deadline for when the amount is to be settled.
