DCBL High Court Enforcement Agents: “Calm, Quiet, Compassionate and Professional”
16th September 2026
Supporting vulnerable customers is a core part of DCBL’s operational approach. Through ongoing training, robust processes, and a culture that prioritises ethical engagement, we are committed to delivering positive outcomes while maintaining the highest standards of compliance and customer care. It is an approach that has recently received national recognition.
The Chartered Institute of Credit Management (CICM) named DCBL the winner of the Excellence in Supporting Vulnerable Customers award at this year’s CICM British Credit Awards. Further recognition came at the Credit and Collections Technology Awards, hosted by Credit Connect, where DCBL won the Innovation in Collections and Recoveries award. While we are proud to have received these awards, this recognition reflects the commitment of our people, who champion our ethical approach.
What Are High Court Enforcement Officers and Agents?
High Court Enforcement Officers (HCEOs) are authorised by the Lord Chancellor and are responsible for enforcing judgments throughout England and Wales, often through the taking control of goods or the repossession of property. At DCBL, our High Court Enforcement Officer can delegate this authority to others acting on their behalf. This enables our High Court Enforcement Agents to execute High Court Writs. All our High Court Enforcement Agents are highly experienced, certificated professionals.
Recently, one of our High Court Enforcement Agents received the following feedback following a customer visit:
“I wanted to formally recognise the exceptional way your agent handled what was, for me, an extremely difficult and stressful situation. He took the time to listen carefully to what I was telling him and treated everything I explained seriously and respectfully. His manner throughout was calm, quiet, compassionate and professional. On several occasions during our conversation, I needed to return inside my home to obtain documents to show him. Each time, I closed the door behind me. The agent remained outside and respected that boundary completely. At no point did he attempt to enter my home, pressure me to allow him inside, or make me feel intimidated. Although the agent attended in his capacity as a High Court Enforcement Agent, the interaction itself never became confrontational or coercive. There was no attempt to enter my home or take control of goods. He kept the conversation calm, factual and focused throughout, listened properly to what I was explaining, and worked with me to reach a reasonable verbal agreement.
His approach turned what could very easily have been an extremely distressing enforcement visit into a constructive conversation with a sensible and workable outcome. He was one of the first people who had properly listened to what I was trying to explain, rather than simply focusing on one isolated issue. I cannot fault any aspect of his conduct during the attendance. I believe excellent conduct should be recognised just as readily as poor conduct is complained about. I would therefore be grateful if his management team could be made aware of the professionalism, compassion, judgement and respect he demonstrated during his attendance. His conduct made an enormous difference to me at an exceptionally difficult time, and I believe he deserves formal recognition, both for the way he treated me and for achieving a reasonable and manageable solution.”
